Su Jinliang said that whether the decline in tourist numbers is related to this remains to be seen, because the policy has been implemented for 3 months. The government and the industry are promoting tourism in many ways.

"We are slowly entering the cold winter," said Mai JE, chairman of the Hongkong Retail Management Association.

Especially in the mainland, the consumption power is weak now. The tables bought last year are more expensive, and the price is higher. The prices this year have been reduced.

The Hongkong SAR government and the Tourism Development Bureau are taking measures to revitalize the tourism industry, including the launch of shopping festivals, the provision of various concessions and preparations for more large-scale events, highlighting the characteristics of Hongkong's "capital city" and attracting more tourists to visit and spend in Hong Kong.

Hotels and shopping malls in Hongkong have also launched more discounts and offers this year.

It is of course essential for Hongkong to increase its tourism resources and enhance its competitiveness with its surrounding cities, but more importantly, the SAR government and the general public must try their best to prevent the repetition of "catch up" phenomenon, maintain courtesy and treat Hongkong as a ritual, and carry forward the "hospitality" in Hongkong.
